Rejoice With Me! Poem by Daniel Brick

Rejoice With Me!

Rating: 5.0

Rejoice with me, Elizaveta!
It is already the second month
of our midwinter spring here
along the banks of the Mississippi.
I wonder, Why does the weather bless
us with a premature spring? Has it,
after many eons, become impatient
with time? Or is it anxious for
the rites of spring? an impromptu
return of warmth, green fields, county
fairs, picnics, outdoor hikes, the pleasures
of the next two seasons we grasp already.
Oh, and the return of the birds, who dazed
and uncomprehending, will still begin singing
and convince even unbelievers of a natural miracle.

Yes, spring is here.See the celebrations around you. an impromptu return of warmth, green fields, county fairs, picnics, outdoor hikes, the pleasures of the next two seasons we grasp already. Oh, and the return of the birds, who dazed and uncomprehending, will still begin singing and convince even unbelievers of a natural miracle. - - - - - - - - - - - - -Lovely and lovely- - - -We rejoice with you.

Oh, I rejoice with you! ! ! Here the winter is finally fading away- -there are only a few unmelted patches of snow hiding under the bushes and the trees. There is no more ice to send me too quickly on my way. And I have had three blue-eyed days in a row! ! ! Tomorrow we can wonder why- -today let''s dance and rejoice! ! 10++++++++++

WOW, Susan, you have the Spirit of Spring coursing thru your body and soul. That's exactly what a celebratory poem should invoke. My second poetry instructor, Deborah Keenan, told us if people weren't dancing at one of her parties, she turns up the music and drags them off the conversation couch onto the dance floor. You simply can't refuse the directive: Rejoice With Me!

Yes, Cigeng, sunny and sweet characterize spring all over the globe. In English the word SPRING has multiple meanings: it is the season that announces summer; it is a source of fresh water; it is a body's leap into the air. All three meanings carry the sense of J-O-Y!

I'm with you. I loved our short spring...and reminisce even as I sit inside looking out at 10 inches of (dare I say it) beautiful snow. It helps me to appreciate the snow more...when I get a brief respite from it. Your poem was like a short sweet song (I can hear the birds) .

A SHORT SWEET SONG - that's a wonderful definition of LYRIC POETRY in general.

Thanks for adding your jaunty melody to my celebration - the birds anxious to BANISH WINTER BLUE will start singing it.
