Relaxation Distraction Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Relaxation Distraction

Rating: 5.0

He is a purring fluff of soft fur
Contently taking events in stride
As they lackadaisically occur…
Preferring to sun bathe outside

Meandering to the shade beneath a tree
After soothing rays begin to intensify…
His relaxation is interrupted by a buzzing bee
Apprehensively the calico cat opens one eye

Relocating; trying to find a new spot to repose
Unexpectedly a splash of color flutters nearby
Floating and precariously landing upon a robust rose
Pausing…before lifting once again toward the sky

A stare is captivated as poised paws strike the air
A two-legged stance elevates enthused curiosity
Swiveling feline awareness has a slightly sprained glare
As the beautiful butterfly soars with an escaping velocity
