Remembrance (For Carmel Azzopardi) Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Remembrance (For Carmel Azzopardi)

Rating: 5.0

Neverously flicking at my last, long fingernail
As I watch the corpse being put in the ambulance
Knowing it was the new neighbour whom had cancer
But that was all I knew of him
The sadness from that death overwhelms me with grief
Since it will be about the memory of you in a few weeks
I try to focus on the prepartions for my birthday
But the remembrance of yr face keeps following me
When I close my eyes at night
The memory of yr smile lighting up
When I read a poem to you
Or asking for advice on my drawing
Sparks the poetry, in which, I write
As I leave a trail of tears on the ground
I continue to go to yr memory
Hoping against hope we will be together
Once more

Hoping against the hope to be together Once more.....itself is so hopeful. Even the nature earth will hear The plea knocking at the door Refusing to submit even more Till the time it's sorted clear Beautiful words. Thank-you.
