Repeat And Replay Poem by Alyssa Lynn

Repeat And Replay

Repeat, replay these words you said to me replay them like sweet honey. Maybe I fell for you too fast, maybe that was my downfall. I once heard someone say “all is fair in love and war.” How is that relevant? Some fight for love, die for love, crave for love, and head into battle to protect the one they love. But love isn’t all flowers & chocolates, love is pain, love is crying over him because he let you go. Love is feeling overly happy over a simple kiss. Love is being naive, being true, being scared. Repeat repeat the words you said to me. Replay them like music to my ears. “I want you, I need you, and I love you.” “Never leave me, this feels so right.” “I want to MARRY you. “ Words said & remembered too, the words that hurt & made me fall in love with you. “I’ll fight for you; I’ll take it all back.” I wasn’t naive enough to believe those words not after I found out you traded me for her. Repeat, repeat the words you said to me. Replay them, as only a distant memory.
