As this year comes to a close,
And the new one will begin;
Let my mind forget all those
Things of the past touched by sin.

Let my heart be filled with love,
And not with hate and anger;
Compassion comes from above,
From the Almighty Father.

Let my eyes pay attention
To the things up in the sky;
On the day of salvation,
There'll be no more pain and cry.

Let me keep my hope alive,
Not letting it diminish;
God will help me to survive,
Till the world starts to vanish.

I will strive to remain tough,
Midst misery and torment;
Allow me to have enough
Strength to stay in commitment.
