Rests In God's Hands Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

Rests In God's Hands

Rating: 5.0

I have searched to discover the wisdom of earth,
It's a long tiring journey from the moment of birth,
Till the day I shall leave here and then fly away,
Through the clouds unto heaven my spirit shall stay.
For there I'll find peace and in joy I will live,
And all that I long for I know he shall give,
As my future is written in stone on the lands,
And my life always rests in God's hands.

I know he'll be with me each step that I take,
And will act as my guide with the choices I make,
He'll always bring comfort when I'm in despair,
And I know he will listen and answer each prayer.
Without him I'm nothing nowhere I belong,
My body is weak yet he makes me so strong,
I shall bow before him like waves on the sands,
For my life always rests in God's hands.

The rock that I cling to that never shall fall,
In times when I'm lonely his love conquers all,
He will never desert me my saviour and friend,
On him I now know I will always depend.
Like the sun in the sky and the land and the sea,
The hills and the mountains forever shall be,
In all of creation his epitaph stands,
And my life always rests in God's hands.
