Retro-Active Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Retro-Active

Caring to give attention,
To anyone, thing or situation.
Allowed to decay or lose its significance,
In attempts to prevent the quality of it...
To completely diminish,
From what it was or could have been.
With then to give retro-active concern.
As if in the process,
A lesson is learned.
With a doing overdone 'and' delayed.
Doesn't prevent what has decayed.
Even with updating the appearance to renovate.
If no one is observant,
To what has begun to rust away.
With it then to give it immediate attention,
Nothing to have been ignored...
Is going to be restored,
To then provide benefits...
As if time had stood still,
Awaiting for someone to notice it...
Moving forward.
Not backward to recapture what was missed.
Or not think it important,
To have meaning, purpose.
Or one day be a reminder,
Of the expensiveness of kept ignorance.
Left to sit and manifest.
