Revolution 2 Poem by Barry Middleton

Revolution 2

Rating: 5.0

it may start with a shout
it may start with a fire

it may start with a whisper
it may start with a ripple

it is driven by moral anger
till rage becomes a flood

it cannot be stopped
it is a wave of humanity

the power is like water
like the power of the sea

gods do not aid justice
that is up to us

it is not found in wishes
it begins with our defiance

You get it here, dear Barry. The great problem we will be called to face the coming decades, the problem of strengthning the institutions of the democracy world wide against our defiance of the great values which are at stake by the demagoges and the greed of the wealth. It's this which fires up the anger of ordinary people who can not wait uninteresting systems to take care of their lives.Wealth has to be destributed world wide.Poverty in Africa or elsewhere in the world can not but influence the whole of the world...Very nicely felt and rendered in true poetical terms. That is why I am fond of your poesy. , my dear.

We all must work together and speak up to defeat tyranny and foster brotherhood. Thanks for the comment Dimitrios.

A thought-provoking piece. Revolutions form a huge part of man's history. A very relevant work. A10

I am really looking for a revolution of thinking, cooperation instead of competition and conflict. We must stand up and speak out against tyranny. Too much apathy in America. Maybe that is changing.

A fine commentary on today's careful watch on our American humanity and democracy. Love your couplet presentation!

Thanks Marianne. The news is both disturbing and hopeful. The Women's March and the demonstrations against blocking immigration and refugees reaffirms my faith in the American people. Freedom and justice have always been a struggle.
