Ridding A Menace Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Ridding A Menace

Ridding a menace.
And the infectious spreading,
Of its addicting pestilence.
Fed with charm and tasteful,
Self serving narcissism.
Should..
Cause one to pause.
And wonder.
At least with one thought,
To think...
'What in the World,
Is this crap that has minds...
Entrapped and captured? '

Recovery,
Will not be easy.
Or done to do quickly.
Since this presentation,
Has for years represented...
A way of life sought to reach.
By those taught from teaching,
False beliefs...
That a charm to have and ego,
Represents confidence.
Self assurance.
And a healthy maintained,
Outlook on life.

And,
Someone like this...
Has qualities people will pick,
And follow...
To the edge of 'Nirvana'.
If told that's what it is.
Willing to dive into canyons,
Of everlasting ecstacy.

To leave even those knowing,
They have been duped.
Hoodwinked and deceived.
Defending to the end,
Their 'Pied Piper'!
Behind the wheel of a bus.
Speeding up.
To crush them under it!
