Rise Of Pettiness Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Rise Of Pettiness

The rise of pettiness,
Has left so many people...
With minds stunted.
In limitations to live.
Like little children playing games of tag.
People seem to wish to pick,
Fights that they've had.
And from the playgrounds of life.
To choose a fight that they've had.
And from the playgrounds of life.
To not get over the past.

The rise of pettiness,
Has left so many sickened.
And unaware,
Their minds are not there.
To be used.
And not abused.
Like little kids who do things just to amuse.

When will all people realize they are accountable.
For what they do.
And not excuse.
To accuse.
When will all people realize they are accountable.
For the confusion
And conflicts.
Everyday to choose them with them started to pick.

Like little children playing games of tag.
Reliving to pick those fights,
They've had in the past.
Like little children playing,
'Got to get you quick.
Before you come to get me.
To claim you won the game.
Making me the one who quits.'

Fools!
Wrapped up in their pettiness.
'Got to get you quick.
Before the others see me quit! '

Fools!
Wrapped up in their pettiness.
'Got to get you quick.
Before the others see me quit! '

Fools!
Rising to their rules of pettiness.
Played.
And everyday to stay.
Fools!
And everyday to stay.
Fools for each other to play.
