Sacrificial Rope Poem by D.N. Rebb

Sacrificial Rope

Rating: 4.0

The pain in the brain
There isn't enough water to put out the flames
It burns
The rope stings too
Not hanging on tight enough
Or perhaps too clenched
Just let go
Declining
Why am I still here?
You live in my reflection
Who then is grasping the other end?
Insistent benefits
Hope is blind
A numbing demise
Propose a contrary intention
Still hanging on
Invert the lifeline
There are other allowances
Resolve
Don't cry
No more anguish in the head
The fire no longer devours
Wave directly into the wind
Taut knot
Twisted and coiled
A sacrificial
Peaceful ending
