I go where the melody of my faith takes me...
I stood there and asked for nothing
I knew what I deserved is all what I will get
but in that city of Lourdes, I stood by the Pyrenees
and as I looked at the huge rock where
a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes was installed,
at the base of that rock were lighted candles and devotees galore.
My piousness silently awakened my dormant heart
I chose to ask for peace and health for everyone I loved;
I asked nothing for my own self as I never need anything
I know what I deserved is all what I would get in my time on earth;
but as I saw so many people praying ardently
I knew some were so helpless and much more in need
of blessings, of healing, of having their dreams waiting to come true,
I implored Our Lady of Lourdes to help them
as they came with hopes and afflictions much greater indeed.
And as I stood there and silently offered my own prayers,
my heart felt awakened and so blessed;
refreshed was my devotion; revived was my exuberance
with reverence and gratitude to Saint Bernadette I walked home;
and as empowered felt my courage, empowered felt my serenity
I thanked Our Lady of Lourdes for it
as that was all what I had come to ask for and seek;
I go where the melody of my faith takes me,
piousness becomes my route, my direction and my journey......
