Sanctuary, Solace (Tactile Explorations) Poem by Raymond J Wright

Sanctuary, Solace (Tactile Explorations)

Rating: 5.0

Kisses, more than sublime
Give me life
Give me light that shines
Now give me all that we are
Tongues and tips of fingers
Fresh linen, cool breezes
On this searing summer night

Tactile explorations
Every nuance captured

Your body smells of spring rain
Tastes sweeter than a fresh nectarine
Moves like nothing I have ever known
Tentative urgencies and unspoken desires
Fulfilled in your fervent embrace

Sanctuary, solace found here

Leave the world outside
With its thunderous harshness
Its coldness, its raging fires
Give me kisses, more than sublime
I will give you all that I am

You said my poem was a piece of beauty: this is that beauty reflected right here. How sensually you evoke what it is like to be in love.

Like savoring sweet wine, love so deeply expressed.

Is it hot in here? 'Fresh linen, cool breezes' 'coldness' and 'raging fires' are stirring images that really hit home. I'm a stickler for grammar, so take out that apostrophe in 'it's' and this is golden. So glad I found your poems! Cheers, Lori

The title grabbed my attention - it sounds so peaceful. The poem is tasteful and lovely, Ray, and the last line just says it all. Love, Fran xx
