Santa's Work In Progress Poem by Ima Ryma

Santa's Work In Progress

Rating: 5.0

The reindeer herd was getting old,
But Santa could not bear the thought
Of replacement, so something bold
To keep momentum needed brought.
And so Santa had the elves build
Some rocket boosters for the sleigh,
As a means to keep speed fulfilled.
The reindeer still would lead the way.
Alas, the rockets worked too well,
Sending Santa and all too fast,
Zoomed round like a bat out of hell,
Could make no stops after the blast.

Into orbit Santa's sleigh whirled,
And 'twas the herd shot round the world!
