Satisfying Expectations Served Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Satisfying Expectations Served

What do you think,
About a president so corrupted...
His activities to announce,
Has caused him reason to be impeached.

"My nephew makes the best pound cake,
I have ever tasted.
And my niece?
She and Mary J. Blige,
Can pass for twins.
I exaggerate not.
And their children...
Both my nephew and niece,
Are absolutely gorgeous.
Seeing them together,
Sometimes it's difficult...
For me to believe,
Just how stunning they all are."

What a bias statement.

"Well...
These days I find,
Keeping my priorities...
Focused and defined,
Allows my mind to stay...
Where it has been,
To not question what I've known."

So...
You expected him to be impeached?

"One time he made for me,
This 'Ziti'?
A pan of it.
I ate it all in about 10 minutes.
Delicious.
Deserving every bite.
Leaving my expectations served.

Some people are born,
Knowing exactly what they do.
And the results they achieve,
Is deserving of the attention they get.
Leaving no one to be stunned.
Or question about what becomes expected.
Satisfying the anticipation."
