Rays of hope through the skies
Kissed the heart of mother land
Clouds smiled, swarmed her love
Arch of colours appeared on high
Blessing showered from the skies
Tore my body and gave lives
Caressed and nurtured in my arms
Awesome was the lush Greenery
But you became selfish and merciless
Butcher's slaughtered and made barren land
Brutally destroyed my winsome beauty
You wiped out all the trees,
Made me weary and dry
No more I can quench your thrist
You made me ferocious,
You will see my anger
As tsunami, cyclones, earthquakes and flood
Hear my cry, save your mother
Before I swipe you from earth.
Hi Rini, Your rejoinder to my comment: As a mother YOU are the better judge. But, I would love to consider all the terrestrial turbulations as helpless cries of agony of a wounded mother, not her anger. Regards -unnikrishnan
Part 2 As tsunami, cyclones, earthquakes and flood Hear my cry, save your mother Before I swipe you from earth. Should we have a relook here? Is it not the helplessness of mother earth, Her agonies and heart-aches that is manifested as tsunamis etc.? A mother can not by so angry and ferocious to destroy her children. The following lines stand out, and do not gel with the mood of the poem: : : You made me ferocious, : : You will see my anger: : Can you make a revisit?
Mother's do punish children, isn't it.. Thanks for reviewing Unnikrishnan
Hi Rini, The helpless cry of Mother Earth brought out most skillfully in the poem. But, your lines, You wiped out all the trees, Made me weary and dry No more I can quench your thrist You made me ferocious, You will see my anger (contd..)
Rays of hope kissing the heart, smiling clouds, showered blessings, Brutally destroyed my winsome beauty Made me weary and dry, sunami, cyclones, earthquakes and flood a cry tot he human kind.. do not destroy what God has given in this beautiful nature. Thank you. You got into the mind of nature, into the mind of earth …. Thank you dear poetess. tony
The ruthless exploitation of Mother Nature by us is beautifully focussed in your lovely stanzas.....
