Should I call you Godmother or auntie
I think neither 'cause you're like mom
All these years like second mom to me
Through thick and thin there for me
Sometimes physically holding my hand
Many more times spiritually guiding me
Reflecting on the happy and sad times
Nothing but fond memories of you
Remember when you were watching me learn
To tie my shoes for the very first time
I remember your great lesson in love
Mommy and daddy were so very angry
And I I I I was so so very scared
You gently held my shivering hand
And you smiled so wonderfully
I'll never forget your magical words:
Some children are very special
And learn more creatively
And then you showed me magic
I learned the very first time
You were so very proud of me
And gave me hug size of bear
I was so very proud of you
Gave you smile bigger than yours
I don't remember mommy and daddy smiling
But the Polaroid captured their expressions
And gave us all many moments of pure joy

reading your poem, an old Italian song has come back to my memory.. it says: ''eppure mi è rimasto nel cuore l'amore che io avevo per te. Vorrei tornare indietro per un momento, ma il tempo non si ferma, corre lontano, io stringo forte a me la piccola mano che un giorno mi accarezzava e da quel giorno i miei ricordi li dedico a te.'' Thanks for sharing!
Fabrizio, I'm happy that my poem triggered a positive memory for you. Thank you for reading and commenting. And for the 10!
