Secret Possibility Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Secret Possibility

Without the need to lie, I have a secret.
Just about the only secret that could be deemed as one.
One that I must say but can't find the urge to say it.
It starts to come out but never actually comes out
I began to say it, but didn't want the wrong person to hear it.
I began to write it down but couldn't find a pen.
I searched high and low, anywhere I might have placed my pen
I searched my pockets, on top my desk. The drawstrings of my hoodie, still no pen
Then the one person whom I couldn't tell offered me a pen.
A sudden fear festered. One I couldn't help but taunt.
I became paranoid, my face struck with a nervous grin.
An array of things out in the open, and this of all things couldn't be seen
Said nor heard
Did you know I have something to say.
Have all the possibilities in the universe led to this one moment.
Alone, here with you. Offering me the only tool that could save me from
life or death.
the possible was possible.
She didn't seem to care
In fact, the only thing that stood in our way was time, and the words that wouldn't come out.
Now, if only the pen could take my place everything would be perfect
