Seeds Of Peace Were Planted Poem by Ray Quesada

Seeds Of Peace Were Planted

Rating: 4.4

Serious, Noble Eyes
Color of the Earth - color of Mystery-
Color of Simplicity and gorgeous
human Dignity

From the dirty purity of this color
Sprouts the Green; Color of Life
-Color of innocence
Color of FREEDOM

Gandhi - He looked upon the world
each stranger, his Brother
-Gazed across Continents
and into the Sun(rise)
knowing the wise way of fighting
by NOT FIGHTING...

With round, contemplative skull
he captured suffering
and shook it lose
turned it upside down
until pieces of Hope, Dignity,
and even pieces of Peace
fell out onto the ground

-Seeds of Peace were planted
planted within his very eyes-

And with the nourishment
of Time, India's Spring of Joy,
Spring of Victory...blossomed
-and the whole world
could smell the flowers.

ray, though i'm not convinced that all wars should be avoided, i DID have some influence from Gandhi in 1970 when i successfully received the selective service conscientious objector classification. i recall reading then that Gandhi DID condone physical fighting to protect one's own family. i believe that is correct. bri edwards
