Should Fall Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Should Fall

A kiss can be a representation
Of many different things.
They can also reveal things
Kept deep & dark.
When I kiss you
I feel the pain that you've
Stuffed down & suppressed so
Deep.
& While there is nothing to
Effectively remove that from
You.
When I kiss you
That is reassurance to a wound
That has yet to heal.
When I kiss you
There is promise that things
Are not as dark as they seem.
That no matter how much time
passes.
No matter how many times that
you've felt that you've fallen.
These lips will tend to each and
every wound tentatively,
one by one.
That when you turn your head
& Look at me.
I'll be there to catch you
If ever you should fall
No matter how much time
passes
