Silence By Covid-19 Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Silence By Covid-19

Rating: 5.0

The orchid about to bloom
With its blossoms creating a Spring-like scent
Making me think of days outside
With the smell of fresh-cut grass
But I am stuck inside
The streets are so desolate
It is, as if, I am the only one alive
I imagine the children going by
From school
Laughing at a childish joke
And the birds singing an aria
So beautiful that people stop to listen
These sounds are non-existant these days
I stay inside helplessly watching local news
As death's grip tighten
And my heart is already dead without hope

Indeed, like Dr. Tony said in his response: we shall always live in HOPE, YOU, me and all others. God always sees us, dear LeeAnn!
