Sinful Days Poem by shakil ahmed

Sinful Days

Rating: 5.0

Sinful Days

The four walls of my chamber
Scattered dust and suffocated air
Bear the true witness
How my tears trickled from eyes
In the dead of ugly dark nights
Out of sheer agony and pain.

I still remember these sinful days
When I shivered like reeds in numbness pain
Losing all hopes and dreams
Those were congregated by day and night.

I wore a smile in my wan face
To camouflage my dejection and despair
I worked, played, and consoled myself
Hoping for a radiant golden tomorrow.

I hoped a day would come
With sparkling light of dazzling sun
That would wipe out all dark patches
Of ugly gloomy nights.

I hoped again I would relish
The joy of animated life
Brimming with elevated happiness
Keeping aside thousand sordid nights

Again I would be miles away
From ugly and ominous doleful days
I would hear at my rain-soaked courtyard
Chirping of fluttering sparrows.

Then I was a corroborate despondent
And despair found me very close
Now golden dreams dazzle my eyes
When I sprawl my body in tired repose.

Rising from the clumsy darkness
Now I can prevent damning gloom
I believe, in the midst of thorns
A new red rose will bloom.

Another amazing write from your poetic pen. A hopeful ending. Indeed a new red rose will bloom. Though melancholy holds sway often but hope can flower any time.10
