Sins Kept Hidden Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Sins Kept Hidden

What aspect of their prestigious institutions,
Keep them protected unsuspected.
From scandals revealed.
What has become,
Of those wholesome standards to value.
And that righteousness to pride.
In portraits captured.
Pledging allegiance to integrity.
Untouchable.
No one else on Earth,
Could come close if they wished.
Be this moralistic.

How.
And when did it all begin.
A revealing of their sins kept hidden.
Horrifying those pretentious.
Lowering their noses,
From heights held high.
How now can they justify,
Their celebrations to create hatred.
And the nonsense of division.
When they fight amongst themselves,
To deny facts exposed that show...
They blindly advocated to support,
A representation.
Of images to delude.
That did not include a reality to excuse.
But kept to charade,
An unseen love and taste...
For filth.
And the goings on below the gutter.
