Skeleton Queen Poem by G J Salgado

Skeleton Queen

Never saw myself fall so hard
Until the day I fell into your pit
I lost my mind so you buried me in the floor
You try to find reasons to beg for more
Trying to find reasons to look at the moon until it hurts
You put me in the ground and little by little you dug the dirt
There's a hole where I used to be
You were looking for yourself and instead you found me
I came all this way just to fade out
Never had a chance to change or have a doubt
I'm fading in so far away from here away from you
You turned me inside out you tore me into
With nothing in between where I used to be
Without reason to continue and nothing to be seen
Found like a diamond that never had a chance to shine
Losing its color the luster turned in time
Damaged in the storm with tattered torn wings
Broken dreams and shattered everything
There's a blood trail where I used to be
All I wanted was for you to be with me
