Slug Surprise Poem by Stephen Katona

Slug Surprise

Rating: 5.0

I pushed open the creaky door,
And walked across the kichen floor,
In search of a late night snack,
I failed to see the glistening track.
My foot landed on something slimy...
I cried out words like, 'Oh cor blimey',
The slug's insides had burst through a hole,
And stuck to the bottom of my bare sole.
I had hoped for some asparagus soup,
Which now looked like this clingy gloop.
I did my best to wipe it away,
But some of it seemed to want to stay.
It found its way onto my fingers,
Despite soap and water a bit still lingers...
