If life seems BLACK,
Ignore what you lack.
When you want to scream,
Boost your self-esteem.
One hundred times a day,
Look at yourself and say:
I am Beautiful,
I am Loved,
I am Awesome,
I am Clever,
I am Kind.
A little louder this time.
Believe in this rhyme.
I am Beautiful,
I am Loved,
I am Awesome,
I am Clever,
I am Kind.
Keep the words flowing,
Until your heart is glowing.
'Black' should NOT be viewed as a 'negative' adjective! Maybe I'll return in ANOTHER 3 years? ? : ) bri
And NOW, another 3 years later, & after reading my previous comments, it seems to me, that my 2022 comment was not 'fair'/true about Stephen's words!
Three years later, after my last comment, I find the poem unrealistic and actually contradictory: after saying to 'ignore' what you lack, S K goes on to suggest one do the opposite it seems. ; ( bri
for anorexia i'd suggest: I'm Not fat! I'm Oh so fine! ! I'm Trim enough! ! ! I'll Feed myself to be healthy! I'll Always eat enough each day! ! I'll Talk to my therapist if I need to! ! ! Granted, this mantra is a trick, and it has its limitations, but it is WORTH TRYING! ! ! good show. to MyPoemList. bri (: perhaps using 'clouded' or 'hopeless' would please 'black people' more. some are touchy, i'm sure, about making black seem undesirable.
