So Many In The World Poem by Francis Duggan

So Many In The World

So many in the World today had to go without dinner
And in life so many have to lose for one to be a winner
But if you can keep on keeping on when others seem to doubt you
Despite your poverty the World would be worse off without you,
So many of big brother's fans on you look down their noses
They look upon you as a weed they see themselves as roses
They have a poor view of the World their type we ought to pity
Perhaps they never travel far from their side of the City
If you can walk with your head held high despite your poor existence
And to despair and a sense of hopelessness offer stern resistance
And battle on against the odds and rise after every tumble
And take the worst life throws at you and about it never grumble
Then surely you are a success and great thing for you waiting
And you will have the loudest laugh and you'll be celebrating.
