So Many Things Poem by Charles M Moore

So Many Things

Rating: 5.0

I saw the T.V sell me troubled times through tinted glasses
I saw the rockets fall and peoples worlds being blown to ashes
I saw the children cry and mothers weep when hope was lost
I heard the sirens wail as bankers added up the cost
I felt emotion hurt when families fled catastrophe
the overwhelming waves and floods cut to the heart of me
a falling man from towers grand gave desperation wings
a foreign eye up in the sky brings me so many things.

This poem hurts and touches me deeply. This poem has a rhythm that serves the message perfectly. An excellent write, Charlie.

Ah, the wonders of technology. Would we be better off without it? Watching the world news is terrifying and heart-wrenching. Where is the GOOD stuff? I don't watch it anymore - I'd rather spend time on PH. Much more constructive. Linda

A very heartfelt piece Charles. The opening line is superb. None of the rhyme comes across as being forced and the flow of the piece is certainly kept going throughout.
