Sometimes A Victor Is A Loser Poem by Hebert Logerie

Sometimes A Victor Is A Loser

Rating: 5.0

What a dichotomy!
Sometimes, a victor is a loser
In politics, a cheater is not a leader
What ignominy!
Election ballots are stolen
Minorities are bullied and threatened
Winning with a deadly weapon
Is a heinous crime that weakened
The muscles of liberty and democracy
History is the impartial or the neutral arbitrator
And historians will reveal the beast or the treasure
Hitler's name is synonymous with bigotry
Injustice, pogrom, violence, racism and superiority
Of one race. Many hate this krimineller Führer publicly
But privately, clandestinely, believe me
Millions of fools emulate this monster and others
My intention is to expose the hypocrisy
That exists in countless camouflaged followers
Who are liars, bigoted, heartless and supremacists
Think deep, very deep. I have always been a realist
I stand for the truth all the time
This time, there is no need to rhyme
The truth is obvious. America is bitter
Unhappy and violent. America is not better
Look at the streets, the riots, the chaos and the anger
Look at the judicial system, the brutality and the danger
The lies are now flying like butterflies, like COVID flies
America no longer enjoys freedom and apple pies
Sometimes, a faux winner is in reality and truthfully a loser
Remember that a cheater will never be a leader
Regardless of the fanfare, the ticker tape parade
Or the confetti dumped in the streets to obstruct or clutter
The sewer. A cheater merits less than an F grade
A cheater is a fake winner, an authentic fraudster
A scammer, a swindler, a cozener par excellence
Which solely displays division, ineptitude or incompetence.

Indeed. The images in this poem are so familiar, as we've all experienced those who cheat their way to the top. Excellent writing, Hebert.
