Song Of Life (After James Schuyler) Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Song Of Life (After James Schuyler)

Rating: 5.0

Let me dream of spring
About the daffodils and the purple crocuses
Bursting out of the melting snow
And the sweet smell of the pink magnolias
Caressing the landscape
Let me dream of the roses in July
Opening their fragrance
As it lingers on a sultry day
And at night, the fireworks explode
Giving a thrill to everyone
Let me dream of children
In a world of make-believe
Going door to door collecting candy
In the dead of an autumn night
Let me dream of winter
When the snow falls
As we snuggle on the couch
Drinking hot toddies
And watching Christmas movies
Let me dream of all this
Until the following year comes

Another well written and beautifully presented poem displaying the hopes and attributes of one's dreams. And Leeann until the following year dawns, things can only get better. Thanks for writing and sharing your most warming poem of heartfelt dreams. Take care and a Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.
