Sound Of Silence - Poem by Donna G Fowler

What is this sound of silence I hear?
This noise I have not heard in years
When you have a house of peers
It is deafening when this hush re-appears

I do miss the times we share
My love for you, nothing could compare
Life can sometimes be unfair
For now I sit at the walls and stare

Are you sure you want to go?
Please tell me now, I need to know
Show me how our love can grow
From heaven above on earth below

Is this silence I now hear?
My love for you is so sincere
We’ll make this a much better year
Our love sustains, for love perseveres
