Spilled Liquor Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Spilled Liquor

The friend you've given
To me stands firmly
In me. I see her every time
I look up.
She's poured & given me shot
After shot of affection
Followed by the tender embrace
Only she can give.
Her fingers coated & sticky
In missed liquor spilled
From the bottle to the glass.
The friend I've given to you
Licks the gap between her fingers
Vulnerable, careful not to waste a drop.
"I'll always be fond of you." he says.
Momentarily I'll crawl to you
Drunk in affection.
& I'll grab & hold on to the only thing
That doesn't spin.
I've yet to control myself when it
Comes to you
