Spring Poem by Nosheen Irfan

Spring

Rating: 5.0

Nature has lifted its grey veil
Revealing a beauteous smile to full gaze
Rippling song of brooks calms the air
Now softly breathing in a regular beat
Melting snow flows downstream
Steadily rising the levels in seas
Intermittent twitter of birds in boughs
Breaks the silence of midday sloth
Fragrant blossoms on leafy trees
Make the gardens rich in shades
Butterflies flit past the rose buds
Seeking the juicy flowers in bloom
My heart is stirred from winter hiatus
Dancing to the tune of spring
Verses rise from fluttering desires
A poet's fancy floats high in skies.

A lovely poem, Nosheen. I am glad that spring has finally arrived. Your verses soar high in the skies to fly with the doves and float with the colorful butterflies.

I savor these and although I do try and not wish time away I still long for the spring season for all of the reasons that you so vividly express. All of the senses are awakened, rippling song, fragrant blossoms, juicy flowers, regular beat and a beauteous smile......thank you for this splendid gift.

I really loved your poem.. The Spring does wonders to the spirits of human beings, artists in particular.. When I was younger (now I am about a few thousand years old: p) , I would write vehemently love poetry about Nature and imaginary princesses, later on about a woman I loved, now I guess it just seeps in.. Enjoying the birds, and the blossoming tress, and the ice creams with my tiny cousins.. Life is good... Thank you for sharing your beautiful poem Nosheen.. It is very apt one on perhaps the most pleasant weather here in the subcontinent, and everywhere else too... Thank you.

My heart is stirred from winter hiatus Dancing to the tune of spring Verses rise from fluttering desires A poet's fancy floats high in spirits With the change of season from the frost of winter to the verdant loveliness, the transition of mood from one of gloom to great cheer is beautifully and enchantingly brought out! Enjoyed reading this uplifting poem and I feel a freshness all about me! A 10
