Staggering Thoughtlessness Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Staggering Thoughtlessness

A once nourished to encourage,
The growth and effectiveness...
To begin the processs,
Of a selfish and staggering...
Mindless to feed thoughtlessness.
Can only begin to attribute this,
To local neighborhoods.
Where the roots are embedded.
Done to plant these seeds.

When the people begin,
A feeding of disrespect and dishonesty.
Left to leave in the minds,
Of the younger ones...
Blooming amongst this kind of mentality.
No one should expect,
Them to live their lives...
Emotionally disconnected and unaffected.

Leaders are picked and selected,
From these infested rooted nests.
To win contests.
As to who best represents their interests.
Yet...
The people often become,
Upset to expect more than they invest.
Receiving in return,
A thoughtless caring and concern shown.
Or a qualifying respect.
The people themselves...
Have not express this to be known.
Or received to have it shown.
But complain they do,
About efforts not to endeavor.
Or attempts to validate them made.
