Still Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Still

Still...
People want what they want.
Selfish and demanding.
To satisfy their craving,
For that taste of candy.

And still...
In these times that threaten.
People want to impress.
With their wishes to get NOW!
And...
Not later to get.
In the face of death threats.

Warned to keep a 'social distance'.
People will not listen,
Still...
Disbelieving what they hear.
As something others choose to fear.

Still...
They believe themselves as chosen,
Entitled people.
They believe themselves to be...
Immortal.

Still...
They believe themselves,
As images of idols.
Symbolized cemented in stone.
Depicted in the movies and TV.

Still...
As truth to face is real.
Many upset protest.
Rejecting it to be a joke or hoax!

Still...
As truth to face is real
Many upset protest.
Rejecting it to be a joke or hoax.

Still...
Fantasized and spoiled too!
They won't accept the truth.
They can't accept the truth.

Still...
Fantasized and spoiled.too!
There's nothing one can do.
To get them to believe,
They've been deceived.
STILL!
