Stories Of Tales Told Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Stories Of Tales Told

What would life be,
To live without...
Dancing and animated,
Animals.
Amusement parks.
Or wide screen TV's.
In incredible high definition.
Bought to watch,
Stories of tales told.
And sought to market them,
For the purpose to eliminate...
Truth for what truth is.
To replace with fiction.

Too many have lived,
Feeling threatened.
And offended by reality.
With a wish to want,
Not to be reminded...
Of conflicts and division,
Are the result and cause...
For their preference,
To remain...
Ignorantly addicted to havoc!
And entitled to stay that way.
As a choice to choose.
While continuing,
A misinterpretation...
Of the constitution.
Few will admit knowing,
What it is.

Does it represent a Republic?
For which it stands.
A Democracy?
Misunderstood to understand?
Or a serving of Conservatives,
Claiming Liberals...
Are taking away,
The exclusive feeding of greed.
That has diminished,
A noticeable quality of life.
And this to observe it..
Is not documented to mention.

However...
Represented to give,
These disparities...
And injustices to mention,
Have been given attention...
In the media.
And on TV.
As proof as to the intentions...
Of what the founding 'fathers',
Meant.
But...
Was not given time to find,
The perfect quilled pens.
Or appropriate quality,
Of available parchment paper.

'Where on Earth,
Do you hear these lies? '

'I'm telling you,
I had been minding...
My own business.
When I overheard,
Descendents...
Of Thomas Jefferson.
Arguing over,
The parchment paper used...
At the Declaration,
Of Independence.
And...
Who should benefit,
To prosper.
All people were included.
Black, White, Hispanic.
Aztec and Native Indians.
As well as Asians too!
This was in 1775! '

'Is that right? '

'That document,
Had been...
Historically signed in 1776! '

'That's exactly the point.
They waited and waited.
But...
Their preferred,
Parchment paper...
Never arrived.
That's why,
Jefferson's signature is huge.
He was that angry.'

'God? Are you listening to this...'

'No!
This was long before,
Ben Hur...
And Charleston Heston,
Had been thought about.
Long before God,
Became a TV sensation.'

'Really? '

'Would I lie about,
What I overheard to hear? '
