Storm - Poem by Gordon Jerome

It was a dark stormy night
Even the stars showed no light
As a cold north wind blew thru
Then a flash spooked a steer
That’s when I saw him appear
Out in front was ole Lasso Lou
He turned and looked at the herd
Then muttered one single word
And off down the trail he flew
Right on his back keepin pace
Was bout a thousand whiteface
Eating dust from ole Lasso Lou
He ran them clear thru the night
Until they gave up their fight
Only leading by a step or two
And then he turned with a grin
And told the lead steer “I win”
So ended the race against Lasso Lou.
“closing thought”
If you keep yourself busy with what you need to do
Your problems like storms will work themselves through
