Stranger In Disguise Poem by Nell Sheridan

Stranger In Disguise

Stranger in Disguise
The children playing, on a warm sunny afternoon,
This mother breaking, her life escaping in tune,
Alone and lost, fighting for what remains of her sanity,
Tears they fall, as she struggles with the anxiety,
A stranger approaches, asking if he can offer assistance,
Shadowed eyes offer, him no recognisable resistance,
He kneels low, speaking softly to a shattered soul,
He wipes a tear, as his words take their toll,
He points out, she is her children's whole world,
Her maternal feelings, he has so fascinatingly stirred,
Squeezing her hand, he leaves with a final phrase,
Yes I care, about you all in so many many ways,
He read the pain, the suffering and the danger,
Somehow her life, it was saved by this disguised stranger,
No name or number, did he leave with his parting,
Just resounding words, for this mother's journey starting,
She can not, thank him for his wisdom,
As she struggles, falsely seeking life's asylum,
No way to say, his words were appreciated,
That for a moment, she was so comforted,
She will find, another way to thank her mystery stranger,
This very moment, her heart and memory yes it will capture,
She will never, forget the sheer significance,
This phantom created, her life'smomentaryenhancement,
Yes she will, pay it forward each and every way,
Yes she will, thank him continually each and every day,
She will listen, when your feeling completely lost,
She will comfort, you with words in the emotional holocaust,
She will show, you the comfort of thy pen,
She will show, you there's much more to poetic craftsmen,
Her words remain, for all to read despite the ungodly hour,
So this stranger, so began the poetic words of power,
The power to, read to learn to feel just cared for,
The battle continues, never over always just one more,
The power to, see through this verymoment,
The power to, use at will someone else's strength,
So regardless, of where or how that you shall roam,
Never forget, this stranger or the power of a poem.
