Stupor - For Charles Bukowski Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Stupor - For Charles Bukowski

Rating: 5.0

Wasted is what
Couch potato
The text dodo
The procrastinator
Alcoholic writer
Would-be athlete
So incomplete

Wasted is what
Blind leading blind
So damn unkind
Greed-infested rats
Feeding off meek cats
The fool on the hill
Wishing for his fill

Wasted is what
All-seeing
So damn blind
All-knowing
So stupid
All-encompassing
So damn ignorant

Dillip, it's always an honour to have my poems added to your favourites. And in this case, a great motivator to start working on the Bukowski Series!

Many thanks for such a great compliment, LeeAnn! I hear that the movie about him was a great tribute.

Richard, I am just reading through some Bukowski. You have captured his psyche perfectly.

M.J., that means so very much to me. Because, like with Kerouac, he's gonna be a tough one to write a book about. And I'm still working on Hunter! Good to see you back in the saddle, M.J. Thx again for the awesome poem!
