Stuttering Thoughts Poem by Biff McGuire

Stuttering Thoughts

Rating: 4.5

If the mood supports the thought
And the flow of words is right
Why must my pen engage my mind?
In a knock down drag out fight?
An endless source of feelings
From my birth to who I am
Stuck in a highway in my head
An eternal traffic jam
The rhythm of the universe
Beats in a perfect time
Until extraction fouls it all
Then blanks fill in the lines
And so into my dreams I go
To try once more to prime the flow
Deliver words to paper's door
Creating space to think once more

What a pleasure to journey with the rhythm and cadence of this poem. The words suited correspondingly and their meaning sweetened by the sonorous flow.
