Summer Swallow Poem by Matt Mooney

Summer Swallow

Destination in the distance,
Another summer swallow
On a long haul flight
A mile above Malaysia,
An Irish girl, mind firmly fixed
On a new dawn in Australia.

Soon you’ll turn the world
Upside down to suit you
For a year down there;
Until you yearn again
To walk the hills of home
You’ll often see in solitude.
