All my life is sun and shadow
tempered by a little rain
youth and vigor, aging seasons
joy and happiness, some pain.
Interspersed with love and beauty
intermixed with faith and hope
graced with blessings and abundance
filled with strength to grow and cope.
All my life is sun and shadow
days of sunshine, without care
nights of turmoil filled with madness
one step away from dark despair.
Fleeting now, the days are passing
present now, November winds
darkness seeks to douse the light
and bring all dreams unto their end.
All my life is sun and shadow
chased by good, erased by bad
but I endured and fought the fight
of each season that I had.
