Surrender
Finally
It's over
The self-deception
The tree knows the wind can break
Its courage. Its resistance can last
Only as long as the wind lacks
The urge to kill. It's over
Love knows it's weak
It must flee the battlefield.
So bravely and poetically beautiful. Loved the strong and far reaching tone of this poem.
Excellent imagery Nosheen. All that's left is hurt, but in time that will heal. Even a damaged tree will sprout new leaves in time.
