Surround Sound And Sights Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Surround Sound And Sights

Rating: 5.0

Surround sound and sights

Woke up to a blue sky
A warm sun
A soft caressing breeze
Easy to breathe
Breeding relaxing ideas
Of fresh airy poems

There was a mute sound of a car alarm
Wailing away in the distance
A neighbour's gate made sporadic open and shut noises
I suspected at the command of the wind
A spoilt brat wailed next door
Seeking attention from long suffering parents

A bird chirped staccato
Another tenor
and yet another cooing.
Aha, that must have been a dove in love.
Coming from the tree above

I sat in the reclined seat of my Toyota Sienta
Barefoot, rested on dashboard above steering wheel
I wanted to write a poem for breakfast, but the inspiration had gone with the wind.
I raised my head to look around, focused my ears and eyes to the surround sound and sights of my neighbourhood and this poem wrote itself.
