Tear Down Progress And Beauty Survives Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Tear Down Progress And Beauty Survives

Building buildings high in the air to have a good view only
mars the view for everyone concerned.

Eternally standing in the way in all directions, the city
of Phoenix has acquiesced to developers who have no clue
in their mindless endeavors.

Tear down all the unsightly skyscrapers and take away the
unnatural trees and vegetation.

Then everyone will be able to once again stand on the
ground and have excellent views in all directions.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Just like in the 60's when we got here. The tallest building was the Westward Ho Hotel! We could stand on the ground and look in every direction all the way to the mountains! Those were the good old days before the greedy developers and politicians came and destroyed everything in the way of their making money hand over fist.
