Tears On Your Pillow Poem by Jennifer Birchall

Tears On Your Pillow

Rating: 5.0

In the darkness of the night it hits most
How lonely I am without you here
We were as one always
Even our breaths were in tune
I reach out to where you once were
All I feel is emptiness
I am deafened by this silence
It's a noise becoming familiar
A night is too long to miss you
Yet here I lay missing you
I need to sleep so I can dream
Get away from this nightmare
My tears slowly fall down my cheek
And onto your pillow

Beautiful poem about not feeling it right to subject somebody one loves to one's nightmares.

Beautiful poem about love, loss and grief. Sleeping is a way to escape from reality. When it is hard to face it, maybe that's the only way to deal with it.
