Tears Silently Fallling Poem by Reva Kern

Tears Silently Fallling

Tears silently falling
Unrestrained and uninhibited
Like the fresh rain of summer
Hitting the tips of branches in the woods

Tears silently falling
Spilling through fingers
Like a knife thrown
Mercilessly streaking across
The weakest nerves

Years as song
Who sings out
Meeting the first rays of morning sun
Waking me from my sleep

Singing high and clear
Drifting between mountaintop and sky
In the woods
Running, jumping

Oh, time passes quickly
All is beautiful
All has become memory
Stolen years
Makes me feel empty-handed
Tears silently falling
Sad
Already outside my window the chirping cicadas
Uninterrupted
