Tell Me - Poem by Christina Simmons

24th March 1999

Piss off! ?
I hear you say...Hear this before I go....

You're in my mind
In my psyche
As hard as I try...
I can't shake you away

You've left me with thoughts
I can't find answers to
Was It something I did
Something I said...

You say you don't want...
Emotional attachment...
Yet your eyes says differently
I would appreciate the truth....

What do you want...
What's your aspiration...
Do you want me as a possession...
Or could it be an obsession? ...

Hearing you say...
It would be hard to let go...
With me in your world
You wouldn't want to let go

Addiction too...
A thing of the past...
Does it make you wonder? ...
Come with me and you'll see

What is it you really want? ...
Tell me -Your request is my directive

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I wrote this following a relationship I was finding very hard to understand where it was leading to. I guess you could say I wanted him for keeps but he just wanted a quick thrill. And at the time I was not able to form friendships unless they were forever. Since learn sometimes people come into our life to teach us things about our self and they're not meant to stay. It really is OK to let go.
