Thank You - Poem by Isabel Kestner

I wanted to tell you…
as the ocean reached her arms into eternity…

I wanted…you…
as the sun and the moon lingered in a small sky…

You…
as great ships drifted in like little islands to safe harbor…

I…
as the children played like kittens in the breaking of waves…

tell…
as my eyes saw your spirit soaring on a seagull’s wings…

I…I wanted to tell you…
despite the jangling, clattering rumbles of my youth…

I wanted to tell you how I love the world you gave me,
wanted to tell you you’re heart opened my eyes,
wanted to tell you this world is beautiful
thanks to you.
