Thanksgiving Day 2016 Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Today is Thanksgiving Day
We attended mass at Saint Paul's church
Morning temperature was 35 degrees Fahrenheit
But it felt much colder, because of gusty wind.
We prayed and sang songs
We thanked God for many blessings
For the blessings that we already received
And for many more blessings to come.
Blue sky was beautiful with white sunshine
However, for this holiday, I took a break inside.
Many Autumn leaves already fell on the ground.
Except for two blue jays, no other birds flew around.
I kept television on for a long time
And I watched direct broadcasting of Macy's parade.
Peter prepared holiday evening meal
He served clam chowder and turkey feast for the family.

NGÀY LỄ TẠ ƠN 2016

Hôm nay ngày Lễ Tạ Ơn
Chúng tôi dự lễ nhà thờ Saint Paul.
Sáng nay nhiệt độ băm lăm
Nhưng vì gió thổi trời càng lạnh thêm.
Lời kinh, tiếng hát dâng lên
Cám ơn Thiên Chúa bao nhiêu ơn trời.
Cám ơn hồng phúc nhận rồi
Cám ơn hồng phúc sẽ chờ Chúa ban.
Hôm nay nắng trắng trời xanh
Nhưng tôi nghỉ lễ, trong nhà dưỡng thân.
Mùa thu, sân lá rụng đầy
Chim trời chỉ thấy một vài Bluejay
Tivi tôi mở khá lâu
Coi hình trực tiếp diễn hành Macy.
Peter nấu bữa ăn chiều
Gà tây, cháo hến, gia đình với nhau.
